Principal's Letter
March 1, 2010
Dear Parents,
As I write this letter, we are in the midst of Lent and so, in keeping with our mission, we are preparing our students spiritually for the season of Easter. Our students in grades 3 through 8 will receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The community, from grades Kindergarten and up, will attend Stations of the Cross three times. The children especially enjoy the Living Stations which will take place in our church, courtesy of the LaSalle students, on Friday, March 26th at 1:00 p.m. All are welcome to join us.
March will also be a busy month in other ways. We will be holding Open Registration for new families on Wednesday, March 3rd from 3:00 to 6:00 pm. Please remember that St. Mary’s still offers a $100.00 referral incentive to families who recommend our school, resulting in a newly registered family. Registration packets were sent home on February 12th. If you did not receive one, please check your child’s go home folder. All the necessary paperwork is available online on our website; simply follow the links for Admissions and registration.
As part of registration, families will create a tuition account with FACTS Management, our new tuition collection company. You will find the link to visit on our website. Simply click on the FACTS logo and you will be redirected to the registration page. This link is available today and I would recommend you visit it as soon as possible, in that a representative from FACTS will be present at our March 8th PTO meeting to address any questions you may have.
Our doors will be open again to our families and friends on the evening of March 18th for our annual Learning Fair, which will be held from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Please mark your calendar and join us to see all the wonderful projects our students have created.
If you are receiving this letter electronically, you are also receiving a copy of issue 2 of The St. Mary’s Messenger. I would like to take a moment to thank the parent and community volunteers who work to produce this publication; namely, Kenneth Clough, Mary Stalker, Karen Campbell, Al Hrdlicka, Sarita Hutchens and Barbara Marois. These men and women put a great deal of time and effort into the school’s marketing and communication initiative for which I am very thankful.
St. Mary’s School is closed on Friday, March 19th for a Teacher Conference day. We will conclude Lent together as a community at our Holy Week Mass on Wednesday, March 31st at 9:30 and, as always, everyone is welcome. I look forward to seeing you at any one of our many gatherings this month. Until then, may you be blessed with God’s love and peace.
Sincerely
Mary H. Rushkoski
