The results above for 2009-2010 reflect newly adopted procedures from State Education Department that raised the cut scores students must earn in order to be considered "proficient" in a subject area (level 3 or higher).

The instruction received by students at St. Mary's School did not change. The tool used to measure "proficiency" was altered.
